Mobile Access Project Van
Born of a partnership between WISH and PACE Society in 2004, the Mobile Access Project Van (MAP Van) provides outreach services to women working on the street from 10:30 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. seven nights a week.
To contact the MAP Van for support, please call 604-720-5686. Someone will pick up during the hours noted above. If you are calling outside of these hours, please leave a message and someone will get back to you.
**PLEASE NOTE: Only those seeking support from the MAP Van may call the line. All other inquiries should be directed to the WISH Offices at 604-669-9474**
The purpose of the MAP Van is to increase sex working womens health and safety, particularly in those areas where there are few or no services open late at night. MAP Van staff provide brief respite from the street, coffee, juice and water as well as supplies, including condoms and clean needles. They can also refer women to emergency shelters, health care services and other supports.
The MAP van is staffed by women, many of whom have experience in the sex industry and all of whom are able to provide caring and compassionate support. Every month, they make over 1400 connections with women.
