CAYR Community Connections (Formerly AIDS Committee of York Region) is dedicated to offering safe, confidential, and inclusive spaces and services in York Region where people can access dignified support and meaningfully engage in self-determined pathways to well-being. We envision an informed, healthy, stigma-free and compassionate community. We help advocate for social services you are entitled to.
If you are a person living with HIV/AIDS, HCV, or seeking support for a friend or family member, here is what you can access: A safe space to engage with others, HIV & HCV supportive case management, HIV & HCV pre/post-test counseling, Treatment/medication adherence support, Language support, Transportation support, Food & nutritional support, Practical/emergency assistance, Peer learning & social groups, Leadership training, Health & wellness programs, Education fund, Holiday Care program.
We also offer specialized and combined programs for: People who use drugs, (harm reduction) People who identify as 2SLGBTQ+, People supporting vulnerable and marginalized community members.
The office of CAYR is open on a reduced schedule as follows:
Monday: closed (available remotely)
Tuesday – Thursday:10am-3pm
Friday: closed (available remotely)
