Chronic Viral Illness Service - (McGill University Health Centre)
The Chronic Viral Illness Service (CVIS), located at the MUHC-Glen Site, is dedicated to providing patient-centered, multidisciplinary care to people living with chronic viral infections such as HIV and hepatitis C virus. It aims to advance care through practice-based research and to train health professionals.
The Chronic Viral Illness Service (CVIS) provides healthcare to adults living with:
Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV)
Hepatitis C virus (HCV)
Human Papilloma Virus (HPV)
Co-infections & multiple morbidities
It is also an active practice-based research centre and is involved in educating health professionals from various disciplines (e.g., medicine, nursing, pharmacy, etc.)
The clinic hours are 08h00-17h00 Monday to Friday. Patients requiring the services of the Day Hospital (for evaluation of new health problems such as those possibly related to HIV and HCV disease or related treatment), are recommended to contact the CVIS (514 843-2090) prior to presenting at the clinic. Patients will be able to speak to one of the CVIS nurses to help evaluate their problem and provide guidance regarding next steps.
