Mission Statement: Our mission is to combat the overdose crisis in our community by working to prevent drug overdoses, stop the spread of bloodborne illnesses and promote the overall well-being of people who use drugs via the delivery of nonjudgmental harm reduction materials Core Values: Care We care about people who use drugs. We provide information and materials so that people who use drugs can do with less risk of bloodborne illness and overdose. Non-judgement We work from a harm reduction perspective, which neither condones nor condemns drug use and recognizes the right of every individual to make their own choices. We do not judge people for their choice to use drugs, the type of drugs they use, or their reasons for use. Anti-oppression We recognize that the overdose crisis intersects with other social issues such as poverty, homelessness, intimate partner violence, mental illness, and systemic racism. We recognize that underserved communities have been particularly affected by the prohibition of drugs and we work to engage with these communities. Advocacy We advocate for policies and legislation that empower people who use drugs to live healthier lives. Community People who use drugs are part of the Windsor community. We work to create areas of social inclusion and belonging for individuals who are often marginalized, stigmatized, and criminalized. Vision: We work towards a future where everyone in Windsor has access to the resources, support, and community that they need to live healthier lives.
